Dell refreshes M14x and M17x with Ivy Bridge and Nvidia Kepler GPUs

Dell has just announced a refresh for their Alienware M14x and M17x gaming notebooks which now feature Intel’s 3rd Generation Core processors or Ivy Bridge along with Nvidia’s latest 600 series graphics cards based on the Kepler architecture. The M14x is designed for a portable gaming experience whereas the M17x is designed as a desktop replacement and also features Nvidia’s 3DVision. Both notebooks have the Creative Sound Blaster audio chipset with THX 7.1 digital surround sound and Klipsch-branded speakers for a good audio experience. Coming to the pricing, the M14x starts at Indian Rupee symbol.svg85,000 while the M17x starts at Indian Rupee symbol.svg1,46,000, with taxes and VAT extra.

A perfect balance of performance and mobility, the Alienware M14x allows gamers on-the-go to experience uncompromising gaming performance. The M14x  features optional dual drive configurations, up to 16GB of memory for multitasking, a Blu-ray combo optical drive and an Nvidia GeForce GT 650M graphics engine with GDDR5 graphics memory. The Alienware M17x, the bigger brother of the M14x, delivers the latest  Nvidia graphics card options, up to 32GB of memory, optional 17.3-inch 120Hz WideFHD WLED 3D display and THX 3D surround sound. It is one of the first laptops to offer the latest GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M and 675M graphics solutions. Both laptops feature Intel’s 3rd Generation processors and Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 technologies, HDMI 1.4, USB 3.0 for fast data transfer, Bluetooth 4.0, optional 3D HD gaming capability, optional Blu-ray disc drive and surround-sound from Klipsch speakers. In addition, the Alienware laptops feature AlienAdrenaline, which enables users to create shortcuts associated with games or applications capable of triggering a chain of command meant to improve system performance or to customize the experience.

Dell is also announcing its ongoing collaboration with EA to implement AlienFX software and lighting control system as well as an exclusive Alienware Arena dog tag in Battlefield 3. Customers can experience these AlienFX implementations while playing Battlefield 3 which will provide gamers with a more personal experience by adjusting lighting colors and effects settings. Gamers will see unique loading, menu and player health lighting effects that will change throughout their Battlefield 3 gameplay.
