Lenovo India today launched two new Ultrabooks - the IdeaPad U310 and the U410, along with an all-in-one PC, IdeaCentre A720. The new Ultrabooks are powered by Intel’s new Ivy Bridge platform. Lenovo also offers users the new Ultrabooks in two avatars - Sapphire Blue and Graphite Grey. As for the new A720 all-in-one PC, it has a 27-inch display with a thickness of 25.4mm, which is pretty sleek. There’s also support for 10-point multi-touch, which means much more flexibility. Like the Ultrabooks, the IdeaCentre A720 is also powered by Intel’s Ivy Bridge.
The Lenovo IdeaPad U310 is one of the more cheaper products of the two, at a price of Rs. 49,990 which is exclusive of the taxes.

Clearly, there’s a noticeable price drop from the previous Ultrabooks that were launched late last year. Those were based on the previous generation of Intel processors. Lenovo stepped into the Ultrabook segment with the launch of the U300s. Back then, the IdeaPad U300s was priced at Rs. 67,900, plus taxes. With the official launch of Ivy Bridge, Ultrabooks, notebooks and PCs based on the new platform are expected. Ultrabooks are likely to make up for 43 percent of all notebooks by the year 2015, according to research reports. At the end of the 2011, they only made up for 2 percent, but this number is said to swell to around 13 percent in 2012 and 38 percent in 2014. The Ultrabooks movement is being pushed, primarily by Intel and partners are jumping onboard and launching new models starting this year. Ultrabooks were expected to be priced at under the Rs. 50,000, prices are slowly dropping.
