Expect the price of super-large LCD screens to slide in 2008. Leading OEM LCD manufacturer ChiMei has begun production of 52-inch panels, making it the first Taiwanese vendor to offer TVs in that size. Its screens have 1920 1080 resolution and a wide colour gamut backlight. It has also developed the ChroMAXI dual core image processor for improved contrast and black level response. ChiMei believes it can undercut rival 52-inch models from Japanese players Sony and Sharp by as much as 50 per cent. News sourced from AVzombie. |
