Has the headline got you saying, "Wtfbbqsauce" yet? Yes, China did ban time travel. The representation of time travel in film and television that is. The government does control everything that is broadcast so yea they can actually change what did or didn't happen in the past or future; in film and tv. It seems the government has taken a disliking to the idea of distorting history. Hang on to your Deloreans still!
China feels that the idea of script writers using time travel to distort plots could show a disrespect for their own history. The country's State Administration for Radio, Film & Television stated that "The producers and writers are treating the serious history in a frivolous way, which should by no means be encouraged anymore." Apparently the shows, "casually make up myths, have monstrous and weird plots, use absurd tactics, and even promote feudalism, superstition, fatalism and reincarnation.”
