Computex 2011: ASUS Exhibits WAVI Technology

At the ongoing, much spoken about tech fair, Computex, every brand worth its salt is doling out devices that promise to outdo its contemporaries. Among the exhibiting brands, ASUS has been offering quite a variety of products. Introducing the WAVI (Wireless Audio Video Interaction) technology, ASUS aims to make the television viewing experience richer, with all the additional PC content viewable on the big screen. As the name suggests, the WAVI technology claims to allow users to stream content between their PCs and their television. This means that it will now be possible to play the latest games and use social networking, among other services.

Creating WAV(I)ES..

The WAVI services are a part of a kit that also includes a transmitter and receiver to facilitate streaming of content back and forth. ASUS claims that the highlight of the WAVI services is the fact that the content can be controlled in the comforts of one’s living room using a wireless keyboard, and a mouse. The USB support, a wireless one at that made available, apparently does the trick. The WAVI operates at the 5GHz band, and provides for coverage of 25 meters.
