Kraft Foods, Intel together build 'adults-only' pudding vending machine

At the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, Kraft Foods, alongwith Intel have installed a free pudding dispensing machine, called iSample, reports Engadget. There's a catch here, though. The pudding dispenser, for reasons best known to Kraft Foods, will be for adults-only (what??). If you're thinking on the lines of "Oh! How're they going to find out, anyway?", then here's the next shocker - the pudding dispensing machine will scan the user's face for aspects like - distance between the eyes, nose and ears to decide if the user's an adult or not, and only then dole out the pudding. While this makes for a wonderful example of an innovative marketing strategy, for a product that's aimed at adults-only, leaving out the primary audience for any confectionary product may not seem to be a very good idea. Each one who approaches iSample is scanned.

If the one, is an adult then they're aksed to use their smartphone, wherein they can either punch in or swipe a code to pick a flavor of their choice. But, if it is a child then the machine will politely deny them, and instead ask them to step aside, so "the grownups can get themselves a free treat".
