Age of Conan gets publisher and release date

Eidos, the British publisher behind franchises like Hitman and Tomb Raider has now set its sights on barbarians with Funcom's MMORPG, Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. According to Ian Livingstone, Product Acquisition Director for Eidos, "We have strong faith in the sales potential for Age of Conan, and by combining the knowledge and reach of both SCi/Eidos and Funcom we believe the game will become a great success." While the game does look promising, it's got colossal competition from two MMORPGs currently dominating the market - WoW and guild Wars. Both developer and publisher have agreed on a March 2007 date for Window's Vista and next-gen consoles as the game is currently in the beta phase of development.
