Apple has launched its latest offering to video editing, the Final Cut Pro X. The iPad manufacturer demonstrated the product in April and it's now available in the Mac App Store for $299.99 (approx Rs. 13,448). Compare this to Final Cut Studio, which usually retails for $999.99 (approx Rs. 44,833). Companion apps like Compressor 4 and Motion 5 (which are usually bundled in Final Cut Studio) are available in the Mac App Store for $49.99 each (approx Rs. 2,241). Final Cut Pro X is here
Final Cut Pro X is built on 64-bit architecture and is designed to take advantage of the extra space and power that Mac OS X Lion offers. For a full systems requirements for Final Cut Pro X, click here. Features of Final Cut Pro X include the Magnetic Timeline and Content Auto Analysis. The Magnetic Timeline allows you to add clips anywhere on your timeline and other existing clips automatically move away. You can use Clip Connections which will help you connect your clips to additional elements like titles and sound effects, so they stay in sync when you move them around. You can join multiple elements into a Compound Clip and edit it as though it’s one clip. The Auditions feature allows you to swap between a bunch of clips comparing alternate takes. Content Auto Analysis scans your media when you import it and assigns tags to it. Final Cut Pro X uses that information and you can find clips you want easier by the type of shot or the number of people in the shot. Final Cut Pro X has a lot better to offer than the Final Cut Pro Studio, including overall performance. If Apple decides to add Final Cut Pro X to the Studio package, it might finally get back some of its market that it was losing out to Adobe Premier and Avid. |
