In what could be a rather intriguing development it looks like Apple is all set to adapt the much maligned and rather controversial Bittorent file sharing client in its next update i.e. OS X - 10.5 "Leopard”. The fact was uncovered by a well-known rumor site Mac OS X Rumors which states that:
“Leopard” will include a system-level “BitTorrent” filesharing client that can be user-customized to ‘donate' upstream Internet bandwidth for things like pushing Software Update packages to Leopard users, delivering iTunes Store content, and just about any purpose to which Apple puts its bandwidth. ...Rewards would include credit at the iTunes Store and the Apple Store as well as other affiliated offers like free airtime minutes for Apple's forthcoming “iPhone” and the like. This could be a great bandwidth saving measure as theoretically songs could be purchased from the iTunes store and end-user machines be used to push the song to the downloader without Apple needing to offer the song from its own servers.
