| One.org now has been upgraded by Yahoo! to feature photo sharing, blogging, podcasts, interactive maps and a downloadable toolbar. Yahoo! also integrated One.org with a One group on its Flickr site, where organization supporters can add their photo. Clicking on a photo brings site visitors to that member's profile and tagged information on the Yahoo photo-sharing site. Yahoo! will spotlight the revamped one.org website, featuring the group's AIDS campaign on its homepage, www.yahoo.com. Paul Dioguardi, ONE's chief executive officer said, "Yahoo!'s gift of their time and tools has the power to save and change lives in Africa and the world's poorest countries. Together, we're connecting people across America and exponentially widening our reach, engaging millions in the fight against global AIDS and extreme poverty. Putting the fight to help the over one billion people who live on less than a dollar a day on a site with millions of hits a day is nothing short of incredible." The new yahoo powered site has more interactive features which enable visitors to ask questions on AIDS and get answers from communities on the site, along with participate in the Poverty Quiz. Also, the news feature provides live breaking news from all over the world. The Web site overhaul is part of a campaign leading up to this year's G8 Summit, starting July 15 in St. Petersburg, Russia. |
