Popular brand for storage and multimedia solutions, Transcend confirms the launch of their SDHC Class 10 UHS-I Memory Card in an official statement. Transcend reveals that the memory card has been developed by the Secure Digital (SD) Card Association as part of its SD version 3.01 specifications, i.e. Ultra-High Speed Class 1 (UHS-I), making this the fastest category card available in the market. Elaborating further on the performance of the cards, Transcend states, "The new Class 10 SDHC UHS-I cards boast a staggering four times faster transfer rate compared to Class 10 alone, realizing transfer speeds of up to 85MB/s when paired with advanced UHS-I compatible devices."
Transcend SDHC Class 10 UHS-I Memory Card
Transcend places their SDHC Class 10 UHS-I memory card among the must-haves list of professional photographers and camcorder enthusiasts, who would want to capture high-speed consecutive shots and smooth full HD video. To accomodate the varying needs of such professionals, Transcend have made their SDHC Class 10 UHS-I memory cards available in high-capacity sizes of 8GB or 16GB. They claim that with these high capacity memory cards, users will be able to store 2 hours and 40 minutes of video content when recording in high quality 1920x1080 AVCHD format at 13Mbps compression rate. Also, if a slight reduction in quality settings is feasible, then the same 16GB card can record up to six full hours of high definition video.
The cards come with built-in ECC (Error Correction Code), which according to Transcend will not only detect any data transfer errors, but will also correct it. Transcend has bundled the SDHC Class 10 UHS-I memory card with RecoveRx software, which is their own software useful when the user needs to retreive files they either accidentally deleted, or lost. Transcend also recommends that the SDHC Class 10 UHS-I memory card be used with Transcend’s RDF8 USB 3.0 card reader or RDF1 ExpressCard Reader.
Those wanting to buy Transcend's SDHC Class 10 UHS-I memory card will have to pay roughly Rs.1,700 (MSRP) for 8GB and Rs.2,863 for 16GB (MSRP). Also, Transcend bundles its SDHC Class 10 UHS-I memory card with limited lifetime warranty. |
