USB Drive Backs up Your Phone Book

If you can't be hassled with proprietary software (such as Nokia PC Suite) to backup and restore your phone's contacts, here's an interesting USB gizmo that makes things a lot easier. The device fits into your phone with a USB connector on the other end that plugs into your PC. When connected, it apparently shows up as a USB drive with some software that lets you open the phone book and backup and restore it. The software is on the device and it doesn't need any installation, making the whole procedure effortless. It's available for Nokia (most S40 devices like the 6610 and the 7250), Sony Ericsson (T610, K700i etc.) and Samsung (D410, X600, E800, etc.) phones, but each device can only work with one brand, so if you have two or three different brand phone that you use regularly, you'll need to spend around Rs. 900 per device. Since they have only four options (Nokia, SE and two Samsungs) available, it would probably be of more value if the device came with four interchangeable connectors. |
