| by Aalaap Ghag | Mobile phones

OmniVision has announced a 5 megapixel CMOS camera sensor module that can be used in mobile devices, here at 3GSM. OmniVision makes camera solutions for companies like LG and Sony Ericsson, among others.

This new camera module also features auto-focus capabilities, which is good news for end users as they can expect more mobile phones with higher megapixels and auto-focus capabilities. 5 megapixel sensors will yield images of the resolution 2592x1944.

They've already begun mass production of the camera modules and expect to start shipping them very soon.
