Buongiorno, India... Bing is Coming

01 Feb, 2008, 4:50 pm IST | by Shayne Rana | Mobile phones

Social networking is the hot new thing, and with sites such as Facebook and Orkut making their way into the mobile sector, nobody wants to be left out. The Italians, with Buongiorno – an independent mobile media and technology company that specializes in mobile phone entertainment and personalization – is all set to bring ‘Bing’ (yes it does sound funny) to our shores.

Bing is a mobile social networking service that will combine SMS with IM for mobile chatting. It works on a Java application, so rest assured it will work on most mobiles in this country. But is it just going to be another e-Buddy or something like Fring? We’ll have to wait and see.
