Kids entertainment channel Cartoon Network on Tuesday said it would make available its comic characters like Ben 10, Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo and Dexter on mobile handsets. "Comics of kids' favourite Ben 10, Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo and Dexter will be now available on mobile handsets through telecom operators like Airtel, Idea, Reliance Mobile and TATA DoCoMo," Cartoon Network said in a statement. Cartoon Network has tied up with mobile value added service company Nazara Technologies to manage and distribute this service, it added. Mobile users can download Cartoon Network comics at varied price points from Re one per day, Rs 10 per week and Rs 30 per month, depending on their operator. Cartoon Network will also introduce a customised java application next year to download an entire Cartoon Network comic to read in one go, it added. "As per one of our studies, a whopping 63 per cent of kids use a mobile phone at least once a week in India. This highlights the fact that mobiles and mobility is an integral part of a kid's lifestyle," Turner International India Vice President and Deputy General Manager (Distribution and Business Operations-South Asia) Siddharth Jain said. Cartoon Network is delighted to add comics of iconic toon stars such as Ben 10 and Johnny Bravo on mobile, he added. |
