There is not a single human being on the planet who is not a fan of the idiot box and I resent that term as it is. But being able to actually watch TV while on the go from a device like a mobile phone that pretty much controls most of our existence is definitely something to look forward to. With companies like LG working on devices to work with mobile-digital-television, analogue TV might just have it’s one foot in the grave. LG along with transmitter manufacturer Harris, at CES 2008, Las Vegas, has unveiled a prototype for mobile-digital-television called the MPH (Mobile Pedestrian Handheld). They’ve even arranged for rides around the city to demonstrate the technology. Of course LG is going to have to compete with their other big names, the likes of Nokia and Samsung. LG’s MPH is in actuality a mobile phone that’s equipped with an antenna, receiver chip and a USB dongle for laptop use. The best part about this technology is almost interference free transmitting and reception and better clarity of video. Come 2009, hopefully in February, LG will have a working model for us to ogle over, unless someone beats them to it. It’s just a matter of time. For the latest information on the same check here. |
