Everyone wants their very own phone these days, Facebook seems to be no exception. According a story by All Things D, Facebook might have approached HTC to build them their very own device. It has been named Buffy and it’s going to be built on the Android platform. If rumours are true, this device is likely be out in the wild in the next 12 to 18 months. Facebook has supposedly chosen HTC over Samsung to build this device. The project is being handled by Facebook CTO, Bret Taylor. The phone powered by Android, will be tight knit with all the popular Facebook features on the web. HTML5 will be the key element of the phone as well.
Facebook branded phone!
When approached, Facebook declined from commenting on the phone. They did tell All Things D that mobile devices were better if they were integrated when social networking services and that Facebook was working with the mobile service providers and handset manufacturers to implement their service on them. HTC also declined to comment on Buffy. The decision to choose HTC might have something to do with their own Facebook phones, notably the ChaCha and Salsa that were launched recently. HTC has had prior experience in creating a Facebook theme phone, which would explain why Facebook chose them over Samsung to create the Buffy. |

We’ve already established that the Lumia 720 is Nokia’s best effort as far as Windows Phone 8 handsets go. This could soon change once the Lumia 925 hits markets, but as it stands now, the Lumia 720 offers the best blend of features and performance, wrapped in a beautiful package that’s quite affordable.
