The Mumbai Festival selected SMS GupShup, the popular group messaging service, as its official SMS Partner for its 2008 event. SMS updates on event schedules, food festivals, theater events, and other related information will be available. The service will be available for the duration of the festival, from January 24 to February 3. To give Mumbaikars a choice of updates, SMS GupShup set up three groups: MumbaiFestival, FoodFests and Theatrics. To receive general updates, one can join the MumbaiFestival group by sending an SMS 'JOIN MumbaiFestival' to 567678. Similarly, to receive updates on food festivals, join the Foodfests group by sending 'JOIN FoodFests' to 567678. To receive updates on the theater festival, join the Theatrics group by sending 'JOIN Theatrics' to 567678. The SMS GupShup platform is also the official channel for internal communication for the Mumbai Festival organizing teams. Webaroo has also launched innovative picture messaging as a part of their SMS GupShup service offering. This enables users to send personalized picture messages to individuals as well as GupShup group members. This additional feature has been launched to fulfill the needs of SMS enthusiasts, who wish to flavor their seasonal festive greetings with descriptive pictorial images. A wide choice of pictures to suit different occasions is available for users to embellish and enhance simple text messages. The SMS GupShup picture messages are low resolution images. They are compatible with all GSM handsets and are available to mobile users across GSM service providers. This service is available free of cost through their website. To register click here. |
