Intex Technologies nationally launched Aqua 5.0 today, adding to its range of budget smartphones. The company, in its official statement, shares that it aims to tap the growing demand of smartphones in tier two and tier three cities. The Aqua 5.0 is priced at Rs 9,990.
In its official statement, Intex shares that the handset is equipped with a dual-core processor. Aqua 5.0 facilitates the user with easy multitasking, deep interactivity and new powerful ways of communicating and sharing. The smart phone sports a high resolution display with multi-touch screen. It also provides a seamless web experience, with up to two times faster browsing.

Commenting on the launch of Aqua 5.0, Sanjay Kumar, GM - Mobile Business, Intex Technologies (India) Ltd, said, “At Intex, we endeavor to bring innovative mobile solutions to mobile users of today . Reaffirming our commitment to quality and pioneering technologies, the newly launched AQUA 5.0 smartphone is a step towards empowering consumers in smaller towns and cities with cutting edge technology at an affordable price.”
"We are targeting a revenue growth of 100 per cent this fiscal with smartphones being the contribution driver. With the launch of this smartphone we aim to meet our business volume targets of five million pieces in this current fiscal. We also plan to extend our budget smartphone range to ten models by March 2013," he added.
Going further, the company states that it sports a 5-inch touchscreen, bundled with Android 4.0 OS. Aqua 5.0 packs in a 1GHz dual-core processor, 4GB of internal memory, and 4GB microSD card slot (expandable up to 32GB). Aqua 5.0 has a 5MP auto focus rear camera with a 1.3MP front camera supporting video calling. Other key features include dual-SIM capability, high resolution display, Wi-Fi, and 2000mAh battery with a talk time of five hours, and about eight days of standby time. The handset is equipped with three sensors - Gravity, Light and Proximity, and supports Auto Call Recorder.
Powered with Google Play store it offers a plethora of in-built applications such as Music player, Video Player, FM Radio, Sound Recorder, Gallery, Email, Gmail, Browser, Flipkart, Facebook, India Rail, Google Maps, Nimbuzz, Skype, and YouTube
As an introductory offer, on purchase of Aqua 5.0 customers can get a bag pack worth Rs 700, 4GB memory card, and NQ antivirus absolutely free. The antivirus will provide real-time protection from malicious Internet threats and will also offer users the flexibility to set up a schedule for regular scanning of data in the device.
Intex shares further that the handset is available in three colours - silver, blue and black, the handset can be bought through 15,000 plus distributors and reseller outlets, and is available at more than 40 Intex Squares (exclusive retail stores) and several hypermarkets across the country. |
