Intex Technologies, one of the companies dealing in IT hardware, mobile phones and consumer electronics have announced the launch of their INTEX YUVA today. Their latest offering, YUVA, is a sleek phone that aims to deliver a long battery life and targets the youth – who are usually heavy users of mobile phones. While the youth today seeks communication solutions that are ‘stylish’, ‘compact’ and ‘value for money’, they do not necessarily want to compromise on the quality of products. INTEX YUVA is positioned as a ‘complete youth phone’, including a long battery life, all packaged at an affordable price.
This slim metal finish, dual-SIM phone comes with a 2100 mAh battery that ensures talk-time of up to 8 hours and standby time of up to 500 hours. Sporting a 2.6-inch QVGA screen and a 1.3 megapixel camera, the phone gives users an option of remotely controlling their phone right from deleting phone book contacts to the entire call history, deleting messages to formatting the phone by sending a protected code SMS on the number. ![]() The Yuva!
Commenting on the launch, Sanjay Kumar, GM, Mobile Business, Intex Technologies (India) Ltd. said, “The consumption pattern of mobile phones has drastically changed in the last five years in India. Not only are young professionals using mobile phones for work, even students are heavy users, mostly for keeping in touch with friends and loved ones. Though these people spend hours with their phones they seldom find time to continuously charge it. Anticipating the need, Intex now offers a light weight phone with a long life battery - the INTEX YUVA. Even in places where consumers face long hours of power cuts, they can remain connected through this phone. This is another effort from Intex towards understanding consumers’ needs and offer customized solutions for them.” One of the added features includes a blacklist and white list option. The black list option allows the user to block unwanted numbers and the white list option lets one select the people who they want to stay in touch with. An added advantage in the phone is a scheduler that equips users to send messages to anyone at a preferred time by pre-setting the ‘send time’.
INTEX YUVA also has built-in entertainment options that include a video player (15FPS, AVI, 3GP, MP4), audio player (MP3 and AMR), sound recorder and FM radio with recording facility. It supports a MicroSD Card expandable up to 16GB, thereby giving users adequate storage space for videos and music files. It has Bluetooth support as well as a USB option to connect with PCs for data transfer. The phone comes with built-in games and an LED Torch and supports GPRS, WAP and MMS. It also has a phone book capacity of 1000 in phone memory and 5000 in the memory card, SMS back up, smart dial, auto call record, battery manager and 3-page idle screen.
Supporting both Hindi and English languages, the INTEX YUVA is priced at Rs.2,890 (MRP) and is available in three colours- black, white and silver. The phone is available at more than 15,000 distributors and reseller outlets, at 70 INTEX SQUARES (exclusive retail stores) and several hypermarkets across the country. |
