Milestone users are in for a rude shock with Motorola delaying the Froyo update yet again. According to sources, Motorola is postponing the Froyo update to the first quarter of 2011 and frustrating many in the process. The update for the Milestone (which launched in November 2009) was supposed to be carried out at the end of 2010, but according to Motorola’s Facebook post, they “continue to work closely” on the Android v 2.2 Froyo update. Stuck with an Eclair Also, according to their support forum, the update for Motorola Defy is scheduled for the second quarter of 2011 while the Milestone XT720 will have to contend with Éclair. The recently launched Quench phones in India will also have to stay put with their in-built operating systems. While Motorola promised Milestone users a Flash-ready web browser, Adobe Flash Player 10.1 is still incompatible with the phone (as it's not running Froyo or higher OS). |
