MWC 2010: Sony Ericsson Shows Off Vivaz Pro

At MWC in Barcelona Sony Ericsson has announced the Vivaz pro that comes with a QWERTY keyboard and is optimised for messaging and entertainment. Like the Vivaz, announced in January, the Vivaz pro allows consumers to produce and broadcast their experiences in HD video. The open platform also allows users to personalise their entertainment experience by downloading applications through PlayNow and the Symbian Developer Community. “Having announced Sony Ericsson Vivaz in January we are now adding a sister phone that includes a QWERTY keyboard along with the touch screen for a superior messaging and entertainment experience,” said Daniel Sandblom Marketing Business Manager, Sony Ericsson. “Sony Ericsson Vivaz pro meets the increased consumer demand for QWERTY devices without compromising on any entertainment features.” The Vivaz pro features the new design philosophy ’human curvature’, which will become a consistent feature of the Sony Ericsson portfolio going forward. The Vivaz pro includes a 5.1 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom with Face detection , Geo tagging, Image stabiliser and Smile detection. It features Bluetooth stereo (A2DP), a Media player, 3D games, Facebook and Twitter applications, YouTube and Google Maps. It also comes equipped with Google Maps, A-GPS, 3.5 mm audio jack, Wi-fi and 75 MB internal memory. In-box accessories include a stereo portable handsfree, 8 GB microSD card and micro USB cable for charging and file transfer. Sony Ericsson Vivaz pro supports UMTS HSPA 900/2100 and GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS HSPA 850/1900/2100 and GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900. The phone will be available in selected markets from Q2 in Black and White. Pricing hasn't been announced yet. |
