Nimbuzz, the multi-community mobile social messaging, (geo) presence and VoIP provider has partnered with Virgin Mobile India to bring its core elements such as social networking and chatting to Virgin Mobile's youth-centric customers and for the first time, Nimbuzz is offering its multibrand WAP chat application to Virgin Mobile under the brand name of Vchatter, allowing users to access multiple instant messengers from a single login. In the first phase, Vchatter, will allow Virgin Mobile users to chat in the very familiar Vbytes (Virgin Mobile's WAP portal) environment. Vchatter brings a one click log-in to multiple IMs like Yahoo Messenger, Gtalk, MSN Messenger, Facebook, Skype etc. via the Vbytes portal for free. Vchatter has been adapted to suit VMI's young users' needs with a customized User Interface and design created in-house by Virgin Mobile. The application is easy to use and brings all the messenger contacts into a single common friend list. The second phase will see the launch of Virgin-branded Nimbuzz Java applications, in Virgin Mobile's upcoming pre-paid handsets. Virgin Mobile plans to promote Nimbuzz's "Vchatter" mobile chat service via a dedicated webpage on the Virgin Mobile website, and with a direct-contact-to-consumer campaign. For its part, Nimbuzz has launched an official blog to interact with its community in India india.blog.nimbuzz.com, for news, behind the scenes insight, new features and trends. Vikas Saxena, Country Head Nimbuzz India, said, "We believe that the "always-on" solution that Nimbuzz provides, together with Virgin Mobile's youth customer focus will gratify the social communication needs of India's hyper-connected youth. Our current global growth at the rate of one new user signing up every 3 seconds is handy proof of the appetite for our service." Talking about the Nimbuzz-Virgin Mobile association, Deval Parikh Chief Officer, Handset, VAS & Procurement, Virgin Mobile India, said, "Virgin Mobile is focussed on providing services and products that meet the need of the its target customers, urban youth in the age group of 15 to 30 years old. Through this unique product experience, we are providing our users the ease of connecting on the move, anytime and anywhere." In Vchatter we have a unique application which makes all Instant Messengers accessible to our customers with a single simultaneous login. Now the users will not have to repeatedly feed in different usernames and passwords for multiple IMs. And this is just the beginning!" Parikh added. |
