Once again, Nokia is adding some more punch to its low range segment by officially announcing the X1-01 and shipping the earlier talked about C2-00. Both these handsets are Dual-SIM and have quite a few features to boast of. Let’s take a look at these phones, one at a time.

Starting with the X1-01, this mobile phone runs on Symbian’s Series 30 operating system. Nokia claims that the external speaker situated at the back can deliver something around 106 phon of perceived loudness which apparently is pretty loud for a mobile phone. The phone has dedicated keys for the music player as well as a one-click creation of a playlist. The X1-01 is also said to remember SIM card settings for up to 5 SIM cards.

Here are the specifications of the handset:

  • 1.8-inch TFT display
  • Bluetooth
  • Memory expandable up to 16 GB
  • FM Radio
  • 3.5 mm audio jack

As you can see there’s no mention of a camera, but that’s because the phone doesn’t have one. It has a flashlight situated at the top of the mobile and is said to have a battery life of about 61 days of standby and 13.1 hours of Talktime.

The C2-00 on the other hand runs on Series 40 and has a feature called Easy Swap. As the name suggests, the second SIM card of the phone is easily swappable because the SIM card slot is placed at the side and so you can change SIM cards without turning off the handset. A look under the hood of the handset reveals the following specifications of the C2-00:

  • 1.8-inch TFT screen
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR
  • VGA camera
  • Memory expandable to 32 GB
  • Stereo FM Radio
  • 3.5 mm audio jack

Now the C2-00 is not a new addition but from what we can see at Nokia Conversations, it seems that the handset will start shipping soon. Nokia claims that both these handsets will be equipped with Ovi Life Tools in select countries.

While the X1-01 is priced at 34 Euros (approx Rs. 2,170), the C2-00 is supposed to set you back by 45 Euros (approx Rs. 2,870). The phones haven’t arrived in India yet, but should be coming soon.
