Samsung Adds 2 More 'Corbys' to Series

Samsung Electronics has extended its youth oriented Corby portfolio with the launch of Corby Plus (B3410) and Corby Pro (B5310) in the Indian market. With this launch of these two new models, Samsung now has 5 phones in its Corby series. Ranjit Yadav , Director – Mobile and IT , Samsung India Electronics Ltd. "Both the CorbyPlus and CorbyPro are designed to cater to the social networking needs of today’s youth .The unique Hybrid design of both these phones with the touch user interface and the easy to use slide out Qwerty keypad as well as features like Live chat , one click access to social networking sites and easy email set up , all Provide consumers with brilliant messaging and connectivity capabilities , at a touch ." Corby Plus and Corby Pro are message-centric mobiles for heavy texters delivering easy-to-use SMS and IM (Instant Messenger) features enabled through its full QWERTY slide out keypad. The phones also incorporate features like Buddy List, Chat Style SMS, Easy Email Set up wizard, Instant Chat Messenger and Popular SNS Sites. Users can update current status and access friends’ updates, live feeds on Facebook, MySpace and Twitter through simple Pop-up SNS. The handset also supports various social networking community sites by integrating leading User Generated Content sites such as YouTube, Flickr, Picasa and Photobucket and other popular SNS sites including Facebook, MySpace and Friendster directly into the handsets user interface. Users can upload photo and video to these SNS and User Generated Content sites through Communities solution. The Corby Plus comes with a 2.6" QVGA 262K TFT LCD screen, 2 MP Camera, FM radio with recording capability, call recording capability and from an entertainment perspective, it has a 3.5mm ear jack. The Corby Pro combines the many features business users demand with a variety of entertainment and multimedia capabilities. These include push email services, conversational SMS and native Facebook and MySpace. In addition, the Samsung CorbyPro also packs in a 2.8" TFT 16M QVGA full touch screen, 3MP digital camera; is A-GPS enabled, offers Wi-Fi, 3G and quad band connectivity. It has a 3.5mm ear jack and dedicated music keys. "Frequent use of texting, emailing, Instant Messaging , sharing content through their mobiles are some of the ways by which today’s youth chooses to stay connected with their friends. Corby series is designed to fulfil this need to stay connected while giving them choice: choice in terms of the colour of the handset, choice over how they stay connected and choice over the features and functionality that best suit their unique personalities and needs to stay connected" said Mr. Yadav. The Corby Plus is priced at Rs. 10,050 and Corby Pro is priced at Rs. 13,900. |
