Samsung launches dual-SIM handset trio in India

Samsung Electronics has officially flagged off three new dual-SIM handsets in the country, namely - Star II Duo s, Metro DUOS and Metro 3752. With the launch of these three handsets, the overall count of dual-SIM handsets by Samsug in India has gone up to 14. 

 

The Star II Duos, a part of the STAR series comes with full-Touch functionality. The dual-SIM availability on the mobile phone, adds Samsung, allows users to switch between the SIM cards without having to re-power the handset each time. Among the other features, Samsung claims to have bundled into its handset are instant messaging, dedicated widgets allowing easy transition between the two SIMs.

Additionally, Samsung states that it comes with a Touchwiz 3.0 interface, an expandable homescreen, complete with Quickpanel and Quick type (a feature usually found on high-end smartphones). Samsung claims to have packaged SoundAlive too on the Star II Duos for music lovers. This feature adds 3D effects to the plain earphones sound, and FindMusic as the name suggests helps the user identify the song unknown to him. Its other features include - 

 

  • 3.2 megapixel camera
  • Bluetooth 3.0
  • Wi-Fi connectivity
  • 30 MB internal memory, 16GB expandable memory support
  • 1200 mAH battery
  • Native SNS, Multi IM and Push Email with ActiveSync

 

The Star II Duos, claims Samsung comes with better social networking integration via Social Hub, which allows users to integrate social networks with their mail contacts directly on their phonebook. 

 

The Samsung Metro Duos, or the C3322 appears to have the classic appearance, and like its counterparts also comes with dual-SIM capabilities. Samsung claims that the Metro Duos is specifically aimed at those looking for media-rich handsets. The handset, according to Samsung comes with access to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter and instant messaging sites like Yahoo, MSN, GTalk and Facebook Chat.

Its other features include - 

 

  • 5.6cm display
  • EDGE, Bluetooth 2.1, WAP2.0/HTML Browser and USB 2.0
  • 16GB expandable external memory
  • MP3 player and FM
  • 1000 mAH battery

 

Additionally, Samsung, together with Tata DoCoMo have announced an offer for the Metro Duos users. Customers can, for a period of three months, avail an all-round benefit of free voice, which translates to 500 minutes to a Tata DoCoMo subscriber, Data (1GB) & SMS (500 SMSes to any network).

 

The Metro C3752, as the image below depicts comes in a slider design. Samsung claims that the Metro C3752 sports a 3 megapixel camera. The users of this phone, Samsung reveals, will be able to enjoy the same set of features, as far as multimedia goes, which the users of Metro Duos do, complete with 8 regional language setup. The Metro C3752 comes with a 6cms TFT display and is powered by a 900 mAH battery.

Samsung has rolled out its trio with these price tags - Star II Duos for Rs. 6,920, Metro Duos for Rs. 4,240 and the Metro C3752 for Rs.5,270.
