Social Networking Dual-SIM Fly Phone Arrives

The dual-SIM phone market is expanding rapidly and mobile phone companies are even moving onto triple SIM . The phones are getting feature heavy and light on the pocket and Fly Mobile has launched yet another dual-SIM phone that focuses on social networking and is touch-enabled. The Fly LINKZ (E145) is targeted at youth in the age bracket of 18-35 years, living in metros and mini metros who prefer to chat and network with friends on the go. It features a WQVGA screen (262K colours & 240 x 400 pixels resolution), 2 MP camera (1600 x 1200 pixel resolution and photo slide show feature), motion sensor games, video record and play, audio player (8 editable equalizer with display of lyrics and album cover), dedicated volume control keys, 3.5 mm universal audio jack, FM radio, accelerometer, motion sensor, handwriting recognition, 1000 contact phonebook, capacity to store 2000 SMS, photo and video caller ID, call blacklisting, multi-faith Indian calendar, stereo Bluetooth, mobile tracker, expandable memory up to 8 GB, PC Sync and modem. Prem Kumar, Chief Executive Officer (India Operations), Fly Mobile, “Buoyed by the success of Fly Circle (B430 DS), our first all-in-one instant messaging and social networking phone, we decided to up the ante by launching a full touch edition for the urban youth who are more touch savvy. Earlier, with MC160 and E106, we had broken the touch phone price barrier. This is in perfect accordance with our philosophy of capturing not just the requirements but also the aspirations of the users through continuous consumer research and incorporating the feedback into our products as features.” Fly LINKZ is designed for the online age with the Nimbuzz application that includes support for Skype, Windows Live Messenger (MSN), GTalk, Yahoo!, AIM, MySpace, ICQ, and others. At the heart of Nimbuzz is the live contact list – an always-on, hyper-connected, dynamic address book, enhanced with “real-time-presence” showing at a glance who’s online, offline, busy or away, their status messages, and social community activity. The Fly LINKZ also includes Snaptu that allows users to plug into Twitter, Facebook, Picasa, Flickr and Google Calendar from anywhere. The phone also packs in a game of Sudoku and Trivia, a quick fire quiz game. Snaptu also keeps users updated on cricket and football, the weather around the world and news from Reuters, BBC, New York Times, Yahoo and hundreds of other credible sources. The Fly LINKZ is available for Rs. 5509. |
