Sony Ericsson and Research In Motion (RIM) have announced out-of-the-box availability of BlackBerry Connect software v4.0 on the Sony Ericsson P1i in various countries in the Asia Pacific region, including Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. BlackBerry Connect will be pre-loaded on the Sony Ericsson P1i and supports push-based wireless email services, including attachment viewing and wireless email synchronization, in conjunction with both BlackBerry Enterprise Server and BlackBerry Internet Service. The P1i is Sony Ericsson's fifth-generation P-series smartphone and combines a stylish, premium finish with a pocket-sized form factor. It lets the user choose how they interact with the phone by using its three-way input interface, as well as manage new business contacts through the 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus that doubles as a business card scanner. The Sony Ericsson P1i operates on hi-speed UMTS and supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and VoIP. Existing Sony Ericsson P1i users can download the BlackBerry Connect v4.0 software from the Sony Ericsson website at www.sonyericsson.com. |
