Sony Ericsson's txt pro, Mix Walkman Officially Announced

Did you take part in Sony Ericsson’s competition on Facebook for reviewing and winning their free goodies? Well if you haven’t it’s too late now, but the latest happening on that end is that they’ve got hold of their four finalists. These guys can win about ten of these Sony Ericsson handsets if they win the competition. Anyway, for those not interested in the competition, both these phones have been officially announced by SE.

Neither of the handsets run on Android, but they are said to have a User Interface that’s similar to their Xperia range of handsets. The Mix Walkman is basically a mobile phone meant specially for music lovers and has a feature called Zappin which lets users preview the song before listening to it. The handset also has SensMe - Sony’s proprietary software that plays music according to the user’s mood and TrackID music recognition. Here are a few of the other specifications of the Mix Walkman:

 

  • 3-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels
  • GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP
  • 3.15 Megapixel camera
  • Stereo FM Radio with RDS
  • 3.5 mm audio jack
  • Memory expandable up to 32 GB

The txt pro, on the other hand is aimed at social networking enthusiasts and features a QWERTY keypad. Plus it also has a Friends application preloaded that lets users check the updates of their friends on Facebook and Twitter. The basic specifications of both mobile phones is pretty much the same, apart from the keypad with the Friends application of the txt pro and special music features of the Mix Walkman which sets them apart.

The prices haven’t been mentioned yet, but they should start selling from the third quarter of this year.
