Tata Launches Prepaid Services for BlackBerry

Tata Teleservices Limited has announced the launch of Prepaid Services with weekly plans for Tata Indicom BlackBerry users. Now Tata Indicom BlackBerry customers have the liberty to opt for prepaid services toning their requirements, not only on a monthly basis but also as per weekly preferences, for the first time with Tata Indicom's flexible weekly prepaid options. Under prepaid segment, customers have two service plans Blackberry Messaging Bundle and BlackBerry Internet Bundle to choose from, according to the customer's requirement for e-mail, instant messaging, social networking and internet browsing. Blackberry Messaging Bundle and BlackBerry Internet Bundle are available at a monthly package of Rs. 299, Rs. 900 and weekly package of Rs. 85 and Rs. 250 respectively. Announcing the launch of Prepaid Services and Weekly Plans, Mr. Sunil Batra, President - Operations, Tata Teleservices, said, "There are 2 firsts: first is that Tata Indicom is now offering Prepaid BlackBerry services to customers and the second first which is the Industry First: that of a weekly plan for BlackBerry customers opting for prepaid services. Offering weekly services stems from our insight, that prepaid segment is highly cost conscious and offering them weekly plans will liberate them from monthly commitments. Also we do realize that customer' service preferences change often and offering weekly plans that suit their pocket and offers flexibility to change service options and keep up with latest social trends is sure going be well received with our prepaid user segment." Under BlackBerry Messaging Bundle service plan, customers get unlimited access to e-mail and instant messaging. It allows customers to access as many as ten email accounts on Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, Google Mail and chat on popular messengers like Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk and Yahoo! Messenger. As an additional benefit BlackBerry handheld shows multiple mailboxes in a single screen and also it supports various formats like Microsoft Word (.doc), Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt), Microsoft Excel (.xls) ,Adobe pdf (.pdf), Corel WordPerfect (.wpd), ASCII text (.txt), ZIP Archive ( .zip), Images (.jpg, .bmp, .png, .gif and .tiff). With BlackBerry Internet Bundle, customers get unlimited access to web browsing on the handheld in addition to unlimited usage on instant messaging and access to as many as 10 POP3 email accounts with unlimited email access. Both the plans are applicable on all BlackBerry smartphones from Tata Indicom. "BlackBerry smartphones have been well-received in the Indian market, and the launch of a variety of handsets is contributing to the appeal of the BlackBerry platform to an even wider range of customers. We have received tremendous response to our enhanced BlackBerry handset portfolio efficiently catering to diverse segments." Mr. Batra added. Tata Indicom offers a variety of BlackBerry Handsets that can be combined with Prepaid options: BlackBerry 8703e available at Rs. 9,990, comes loaded with a full QWERTY keyboard, intuitive trackball navigation system and light sensing screen technology. It also offers smart dialing, Bluetooth and a strong battery life. BlackBerry CurveTM 8330 priced at Rs. 15,990, provides customers with a wide range of easy-to-use mobile applications, including camera, multimedia and more. With a sleek and stylish design, BlackBerry 8830 World Edition, available at Rs. 17,000 offers a full QWERTY keyboard, intuitive trackball navigation system and large bright display. BlackBerry Tour 9630, priced at Rs. 27,990, is a 3G enabled smartphone equipped with world rich multimedia features. The BlackBerry Tour is a state-of-the-art smartphone providing users with an enhanced communications experience it is outfitted with a 3.2 megapixel camera with support for video recording. With its support for BlackBerry App World, users can also access free mobile applications designed for business, productivity, games, news and lifestyle needs. |
