After rivals like Vodafone, Airtel and Idea, BSNL is all set to introduce attractive national roaming plans. State-run BSNL’s special plans are said to offer free incoming calls and cheaper outgoing call and SMS rates on national roaming. It has introduced plans for both pre-paid and post-paid customers.

BSNL has offered two special tariff vouchers for national roaming. According to its plans, customers can enjoy unlimited free incoming calls for Rs 5 a day and Rs 69 for 30 days. It will charge 1.5 paise per second for outgoing local and national calls. BSNL’s pre-paid customers can also check out the new roaming plans – RTP Rs 405 and RTP-FR Rs 705. With the Rs 405 plan, users can enjoy free incoming calls on national roaming on BSNL network and Rs 0.75 for MTNL network for Delhi and Mumbai. Subscribers of the Rs 705 plan can enjoy free incoming calls across the nation, including on MTNL network circles.
For post-paid users, BSNL has launched two roaming tariff plans (RTP) at Rs 145 and Rs 625, which come with services such as free calls and SMS. In addition to this, post-paid users also get RTPs for Rs 149 and Rs 825, which include free unlimited incoming calls for a month. Subscribers get 150 minutes free outgoing calls on the Rs 625 plan and 500 minutes on Rs 825 plan. The Rs 145 plan offers reduced roaming charges while one will get free incoming calls on national roaming with the Rs 149 plan. The outgoing on national roaming will cost Re 1 for local calls and Rs 1.50 for STD calls and other networks.
Other mobile operators have also recently slashed roaming prices in order to comply with directions issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India last month so that consumers get the option of discounted roaming plans.
