The Rs. 229 plan will allow users to connect to e-mail, BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) and Instant Messaging applications like GTalk, MSN and Yahoo!. As part of the plan, MTNL’s BlackBerry users can access push mail for up to ten supported business and personal mail accounts and an optional BlackBerry e-mail ID. It will also support full e-mail attachment viewing, which will include .JPEG, .BMP, .TIFF and .RTF formats, as well as Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. Internet browsing will be charged on a Pay As You Go service at 1p/10 KB. MTNL plans to introduce these plans in the Delhi circle, initially.
The BIS Lite plan will be accessible to subscribers by 1st September, 2011. Users can make activation requests on MTNL’s toll free number - 1503. So far, BlackBerry plans have been more appealing to high-end corporate users, but with the introduction of cheaper plans, it seems that even the average college going user can now afford them. |
