India Gets Windows Mobile 6.0

Microsoft Corp. Windows mobile v6.0 has been launched in India. This latest version of the popular business platform for mobile phones has provisions for enhanced communications, productivity, security and device management capabilities. Doug Hauger, Chief Operating Officer, Microsoft India, said, "Windows Mobile is a powerful software platform that addresses the anytime anywhere connectivity need of today's mobile workforce in India as well as globally. The platform has received an overwhelming response from customers, partners, mobile operators, developers and industry at large. We are confident that Windows Mobile 6 with its enhanced security, communication and productivity features, and a familiar software experience will further accelerate the platforms adoption by diverse segments of the industry." Some of the major benefits to the users include the ability to read HTML mail, Direct Push technology for email, support for storage card encryption and storage card wipe. The new version will also allow easy syncing with Windows Vista. It also comes equipped with the latest version of Office Mobile suite. The latest version of Windows mobile enabled on devices like the HTC Touch, HTC S710, HP iPAQ 512 and O2 Atom Life.
