IFA 09: Samsung LED Backlit Full HD Monitor

03 Sep, 2009, 6:52 pm IST | Siddharth Bhatia | Monitors

As expected, Samsung uses the IFA platform to showcase their very recently released LED backlit Monitor, the XL2370 (not like their TVs, which are edge lit).

The XL2370 monitor utilizes LED backlighting and applies the Touch of Color (ToC) design. It features a slim body with a minimum thickness of 19 mm (in the thinnest part). The response time is of 2 ms on a wide screen display (16:9) with full HD 1920 x 1080 res.

Also, the XL2370 is environmentally-friendly and recyclable because it uses mercury-free materials.

The electric power consumption is claimed to be cut down by 33 percent compared to conventional monitors, leading to a full power reduction of 120W on an average daily basis (assuming that the product is used for 8 hours and is on standby for 16 hours).

After being globally launched in July, the XL2370 has garnered a high level of attention from trend leaders, who prefer high-end products and place importance on design. They are planning to launch the XL2370 23" LED monitor by September mid.
