ASUS has just released a wide range of X79 motherboards that cover various segments in the PC market. All feature the new Intel X79 Express Chipset, with support for the 2nd generation Core i7 processor family for the LGA 2011 Socket. The complete line-up includes P9X79 Series motherboards with total performance tuning and control, the enthusiast-centric ROG Rampage IV Extreme, Rampage IV Formula and the TUF SABERTOOTH X79. You can read more about the new board features in detail in our hands-on preview of the motherboards, right here.

Rather than just an announcement, Asus has also revealed the pricing for their entire X79 lineup which goes something like this:

  • Rampage IV Extreme/Battlefield 3 - Rs.28,650/-
  • Rampage IV Formula/Battlefield3 - Rs.23,700/-
  • Sabertooth X79 - Rs.22,000/-
  • P9X79 DELUXE - Rs.24,500/-
  • P9X79 PRO - Rs.20,500/-
  • P9X79 - Rs.18,400/-

All boards will ship with a 3-year warranty. The boards don’t come cheap, but then again we didn’t expect it to be, given that this is an enthusiast segment chipset and the fact that it’s Intel. It’s nice of Asus to have managed to keep the pricing of the Rampage IV Extreme edition under the 30K mark.

Given the high-end features it possesses like OC Key and the ability to overvolt your GPU, we were expecting a price North of 30K. Adding Battlefield 3 with a gaming-oriented motherboard is another good way of marketing it, which we don’t see many (no one in fact) doing nowadays. All motherboards feature ASUS Dual Intelligent Processors 3 technology with New DIGI+ Power Control providing three digital voltage controllers onboard, one for the CPU and two for DRAM. All the boards also ship with multi-GPU support, PCI Express 3.0, and up to 64GB quad-channel DDR3.

We’ll be bringing you reviews of X79 chipset very soon, so stay tuned for more.
