Gigabyte Z68 Motherboards Offer Lucid Dreams

Gigabyte today announced that it is entering into a long term partnership with Lucidlogix, the makers of the Virtu GPU virtualization technology. According to Lucidlogic, The Virtu software allows for on the fly switching between the Sandy Bridge GPU and a discrete graphics card. GPU switching on the fly.
Lucidlogic claims that with the Virtu technology, next-generation PCs with 2nd Generation Intel Core processors will balance the built-in media features of Intel Core processor graphics with the high-end performance GPUs, while significantly reducing the power drain of traditional entertainment desktops.The new technology allows for the discrete GPU to completely shut down when its processing power is not required, it is during this time the on-die GPU on the Sandy Bridge processors take over to complete the day to day tasks.
