LG's Christmas Edition of the BL40 to Feature 8MP Camera

LG’s BL40 has been making waves for quite a while now with its sleek long finish and large widescreen display. So far we’ve seen the red and black edition which, although quite a looker, is pretty much a standard edition to the Chocolate range. However recent reports have showcased a special edition of the handset for the upcoming festive season.

The LG BL40 Christmas edition that’s due to be launched in South Korea for now, on December 10th will come in a glossy all black finish with what seems to be the English alphabet etched in gold across the rear. It does give the handset a rather elegant look, but the alphabets confuse me.

The reports have also mentioned that this special edition of the BL40 will feature an 8 megapixel camera instead of the 5 megapixel shooter that the standard edition comes with. Presumably it will still feature Geotagging capabilities with Smile and Blink detection. Other features include -
  • a 4-inch scratch-resistant multi-touch display sporting an 800 x 345 pixel resolution (21:9 aspect ratio)
  • 3G with HSDPA, EDGE/GPRS
  • Wi-Fi with DLNA
  • Bluetooth v2.1 A2DP, USB 2.0
  • GPS with A-GPS support
  • Dolby Mobile sound engine for the audio player
  • DivX and XviD video support
  • 3.5mm earphone socket (according to video)
  • MicroSD card support up to 32GB
Although the pricing has not been officially announced for this edition, the standard edition that’s due to be released in India soon, is estimated to be around the Rs. 25,000 mark. Stay tuned.
