The social networking site bug has bitten the popular shopping site eBay. Yesterday, eBay launched a social networking site called “Neighborhoods” to bring together buyers and sellers with common interests under one roof.

In addition to the regular features of a social networking site eBay Neighborhood offers eBay listings, eBay blogs, eBay guides and eBay reviews. At present there are about 600 neighborhoods.

As an extension to eBay, eBay Neighborhoods users can write and share product reviews and add pictures of products as well.

At present the most popular neighborhood having a maximum of 359 members is called Coffee Lovers and features a gallery of listings of coffee related items like reviews of coffee makers, espresso machines, coffee shops and a “Coffee Makers and Espresso Machines Buying Guide.”

Other popular networks include jewellery, dogs, Apple iPhone, Star Wars, games, furniture, Seinfeld memorabilia and so on.
