Another dose of raw adrenaline coming your way.

If Part I and II have not satiated your thirst for action, here’s another dose of raw adrenaline. Dante's Inferno (Xbox 360 PS3) No screenshot released yet Announced at the Spike Video Game Awards last year, Dante's Inferno is the next project from EA's Redwood Shores, the same folk behind the terribly frightening Dead Space. That and the fact that the game is based on the poem of the same name is about all we know as of now. Rumored to be dead for a while now, Indiana Jones (working title) the game should hopefully see the light of day in 2009. Announced way back in 2005 the game was to take advantage of powerful technology like DMM and Euphoria, the likes of which us gaming folk had not seen till date. But then the Force Unleashed released, we saw that technology at work and weren't terribly impressed with the way they were implemented. Here’s hoping Indiana Jones can blow us away with its technical prowess. Eddie Riggs (played by none other than Jack Black) is your run of the mill groupie who after a freak accident finds himself in the heart of a Nordic/Heavy Metal fantasy world where humanity has been enslaved by terrible monsters. His (rock and) roll off course is to liberate humans from this terrible oppression using "a broad axe, a big block V8 and his faithful guitar in hand". Like Tim Shafer's previous outing, Psychonauts, Brutal Legend will be a third person action adventure that’ll put as much emphasis on adventure and platforming as it does on hack and slash action. Just Cause was an enjoyable Grand Theft Auto clone that followed the exploits of CIA agent Rico Rodriguez who went around the fictional tropical island of San Esperito liberating territories and fighting oppression. The sequel will play out in pretty much the same way shifting the action to another island while introducing a bunch of new gameplay elements like “sophisticated AI” (that’s what they all say eh?), a new targeting system, newer weapons, vehicles etc in the process. |
