Asus Launches Notebook with HD-DVD Drive

Motherboard manufacturer Asus, has launched its latest feature packed notebook, the W2P. Its most distinct feature is the built-in HD-DVD drive. It falls in the 'desktop replacement' category with a 17" WUXGA (Widescreen Ultra Extended Graphics Array- has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 with a 16:10 aspect ratio) screen and weighs 3.15 kg. It supports the latest Core 2 Duo processors from Intel with up to 2 GB of RAM. It features ATI's Mobility Radeon X1700 graphics chip with 256 MB of memory, HDMI output (HDCP is supported), Dolby-certified surround sound (four speakers + subwoofer), 802.11a/b/g wireless and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR (Enhanced Data Rate- offers three times the bandwidth of conventional Bluetooth Protocols). It also incorporates a analog/digital tuner. The operating system used is but of course the Windows XP Media Center Edition. Price isn't announced yet but expect it to be no lesser than $2000. |
