It seems MSI wants to be taken more seriously, when it comes to gaming notebooks in 2012 and their latest launch says exactly that. The GT783 is now their flagship gaming notebook and MSI haven’t compromised on anything here. They have launched two of their models - the GT783 and the GT783R and their prices start at US $2,499 (Rs. 1,32,447) and $2,299.99 (Rs.1,21,849), respectively. These are now available at online stores like Amazon and Newegg. No word on when it’ll be coming to Indian shores, yet.

So, what can you expect for this kind of money? For starters, the notebook is powered by an Intel Core i7-2670QM quad-core CPU and most importantly for any gaming notebook, you get the top of the line GPU from Nvidia, the GTX 580M. Both machines boast of a 17.3-inch Full HD screen and the ability to upgrade the memory up to 32GB. The GT783R packs in a dual hard drive setup in RAID 0 configurations where as the GT783 Limited Edition bundles an SSD as well for quicker boot times. Just like their previous ‘G-series’ notebooks, the new series packs in MSI’s Turbo Drive technology to overclock the GPU and CPU, a backlit keyboard designed by SteelSeries, MSI’s Cooler Boost technology and Dynaudio speakers with THX Surround Sound.

The GT783 Limited Edition will be bundled with Battlefield 3, SteelSeries Siberia V2 headset, MSI backpack, and SteelSeries Kinzu gaming mouse and mouse pad.
