One of the more interesting developments, post-CES this year, has been the sudden popularity of LED backlit displays. LED backlighting facilitates thinner and brighter screens, sharper color and reduced power requirements on laptops. This helps in increasing battery life by as much as 45 minutes. The P7230 also packs in a 6x Multi-Format DVD Writer, two USB 2.0 ports, an IEEE 1394 Firewire port, a full-sized video port, modem, LAN and audio in and out jacks. Battery life for P7230 notebook is rated at 6 hours with a 6-cell battery and 9.75 hours with the additional modular bay battery. For installing the extended modular battery, the DVD Writer will have to be swapped out. |
