Lenovo IdeaPad U300e ultrabook details emerge

Lenovo appears to be working on a more ‘wallet friendly’ ultrabook, the U300e, which is a mix between the lower end, U260 and their flagship, U300s. The notebook will be powered by a Core i5 processor and will be priced at $960 US (Rs.47,090), which is quite a bit cheaper than their current offerings.

If looks could kill

Cheap is good

So, what’s changed? Where have Lenovo compromised in order to bring down the cost? As it turns out, not a lot, in fact you’re getting a lot more by paying less. If we compare it with the U300s that we reviewed recently, then you’ll see that it still has the same Core i5-2467M CPU, 4GB of RAM and a 13.3-inch screen with a 1366 x 768 resolution. Even the design and look is pretty much identical to the U300s. The new addition (rather than omission) is a 500GB laptop hard drive, along with a 32GB SSD, so you get speedy performance as well as ample storage space. Their flagship model offered up to a 256GB SSD only, which shot the price northwards. This does mean that weight is a little bit more, nothing you’ll notice too much. The notebook is already available for sale in U.S. and it’s only a matter of time till it gets here.
