Dailytech has reported that Lenovo is all set to beef up its popular Thinkpad laptop range. They are planning on introducing Core 2 Duo processors in its laptops and adding support for the fledgling 802.11n Wi-Fi standard. The company is planning to add the Core 2 Duo processors to its R, T, X and Z series notebooks. Each of these notebooks will be Windows Vista capable and a few select will pass even the Windows Vista premium rating. The company has also decided to provide security for its laptops, by tying up with Utimaco a data security company that specializes in data encryption. A few select ThinkPad’s will feature Utimaco’s Safeguard Easy 4.30 software that will allow a user to encrypt all his data on the laptop on the hard drive with the inbuilt biometric sensor. This is a good move as Lenovo is a big player in corporate circles with their sturdy tough notebooks and finds favor with both enthusiasts and businessmen. Security like this will protect your data in case you do loose your laptop. |
