TDK Debuts Blu-ray media rated at 6x

In what may be a premature launch TDK had debuted Blu-ray media rated at 6x at the 8th Annual Data Storage Expo in Japan. I say it's a premature launch because the bulk of Blu-ray writers launched are rated at 2x write speeds, a higher speed media seems a little premature.
The 6x media is a single layer 25 GB Blu-ray disc which in current circumstances is totally useless as I don't expect 6x drives to ship for at least another year.
