It seems just like yesterday, when a 350 watt powersupply could easily power your machine and have plenty of wattage to spare. Today that will not even allow your machine to boot. With powerful cards like Nvidia's GeForce 8800GTX, which requires dual PCIe power connectors and AMD's QuadFX systems that have 4 cores for processing power, power requirements have gone through the roof. Now Dailytech has reported, that keeping this in mind Tagan has announced a new 1,100 watt PSU the Tagan Turbojet TG-1100. This monster PSU claims to deliver 1,100 watts of power with 80 percent power efficiency. It also offers six 20amp 12 volt, one 20 amp 3.3 volt and one 6.5 amp 5 volt rail. In terms of connectors it comes with 4 PCIe connectors, ten SATA and 3 Molex connectors. The cooling on this new PSU is taken care of by an 80mm exhaust fan and seven bladed intake fans. It is currently available from online vendors for an average price of $399.99. |
