When the debut gameplay video for Diablo III was released, the Witch Doctor seemed really impressive but many panicked at the fact that it might replace the Necromancer class. There might still be hope for the class after all, as the game’s lead designer Jay Wilson (in an interview with MTV Multiplayer) said it was a possibility that old classes might make a return: "I wouldn't be opposed to looking at old classes ... We're looking out ahead of time at what our expansions are going to be, so we've got to keep room open for some of those other classes down the road." Wilson also specified that the Witch Doctor class was designed in such a way that there would be room for a Necromancer, should they decide to go that way. I guess all you Necro fans will just have to keep your fingers crossed. By the looks of it, the class will show up in an expansion if not in the original. [Via Joystiq] |
