Hynix has recently introduced high capacity modules based on the industry's first 60nm 1GB DDR2 DRAM. Hynix is also one of the first DRAM suppliers to be validated by Intel on the 1GB DDR2 DRAM component, and modules using this component are currently under evaluation. Using the 60nm process the manufacturing costs are expected to decline up to 50% as compared to the 80nm technologies. Mr. Hong Sung Joo, Vice-President, Product Development, said that their 60nm process is highly stable, even under the worst conditions. The 1GB 800Mhz DDR2 DRAM component and the 2GB module will starting appearing in the first half of 2007. Head here for more. |
