A new Humble Bundle is in town, and this time, the games are all from one studio - Double Fine. The games included in this time's Humble Bundle are Costume Quest, Psychonauts and Stacking. Paying more than the average, which at the time of writing is $8 (approximately Rs 432), will get you Brutal Legend. Buying the Humble Bundle will get you access to the games on PC and Mac.
There is also a considerably pricier option. Paying $35 (roughly Rs 1,893) will get you all the games along with backer access to the Double Fine Adventure, which has been dubbed Broken Age. The even more expensive option is a $70 (roughly Rs 3,786) purchase, which gets you everything along with a t-shirt, which is available in black or cream colours.
As is usual for Humble Bundle, buying it would get you access to the games' soundtracks in both MP3 and FLAC formats.
Costume Quest is a turn-based RPG that focuses on the story of siblings - a girl and a boy - one of whom gets kidnapped and has to be saved by the other. The story takes place during Halloween - your powers and abilities depend on what costume you wear. Despite lacking any voice acting, the game has been praised for its witty plot and dialogue.
The new Humble Bundle has some classic games up for grabs
Psychonauts is a third person action-adventure game that follows the exploits of young psychic Raz. Raz runs away from the circus so that he can join a camp dedicated to teaching psychic kids how to control their powers. Along the way, Raz uncovers a conspiracy that goes all the way to the top, and must enlist the help of his fellow camp mates and special agents to fight the threat. The game is well known for its unique take on psychic abilities and great level design.
Stacking is set in the Victorian era and is narrated like a silent movie. It is an adventure-puzzle game about nestling dolls that have special abilities. Players play the smallest doll, Charlie Blackmore, who can sneak up behind larger dolls and jump into them for new powers. Every puzzle has multiple solutions, so players are encouraged to experiment with different abilities.
Brutal Legend has players step in the shoes of roadie Eddie Riggs. The game features heavy metal imagery and a glorious soundtrack that features the likes of Ozzy Osbourne and Lita Ford, among others. The game is a hack-and-slash action game, but sometimes becomes a strategy game where you have to organise your forces to fight the armies of hell.
Broken Age, previously known as the Double Fine Adventure, is still in development. It was funded through a massive Kickstarter campaign that ended up being the template for many other Kickstarter projects. It is going to be a point-and-click adventure game that will follow the exploits of two characters - a boy and a girl.
