Razer to put PC gamers into "Motion" with the Hydra

After Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony, Razer has now decided to get into the motion controlled gaming space with the Hyrdra. This sparkling new device that kind of looks like a cross between the Wii and PlayStation Move grants players more interactivity than your conventional mouse and keyboard. The device has been developed after some serious consultation from Valve who’ve actually developed exclusive Portal 2 content for players who purchase the Hydra.

In addition to Portal 2, the Hydra will be compatible with indie game, World of Goo, Left for Dead 2 and over 125 other popular PC games. Here’s what Min-Liang Tan, CEO and Creative Director of Razer had to say on the occasion, “We are excited to finally bring full motion control to the PC. Gamers will be blown away by the pinpoint tracking precision that mirrors every move in-game. They’ll also enjoy the exclusive new Portal 2 content created specifically for the Razer Hydra, giving them more bang for their buck.”

The Hydra is expected to ship worldwide, (India included) this June for $139. The Indian price was not confirmed to me, but it should be in the same range as its Western counterpart which roughly comes to Rs. 6,228.
